Troubleshooting
Symptom
STANDBY/ON button is
pressed, but power does
not come on.
The unit does not operate
or operates poorly.
The unit does not play.
The sound has a lot of
static.
The unit does not record.
Noise is heard regularly
during AM recording.
Too much noise is heard.
Remedy
Insert the plug firmly.
Press the R-805TX’s STANDBY/ON
button. The power to the MD-
105TX will be turned on.
Take the disc out and insert it again.
If “Disk Error” remains, replace the
disc. (See “Precautions for handling
the MiniDisc (MD)” on page 48.)
Take the MD out and leave the unit in a
warm place for several hours until the
moisture evaporates (See page 47).
Press the STANDBY/ON button to
turn the unit on.
Slide the MD into the disc
compartment with the label side
up and the arrow pointing toward
the opening until the unit grips it.
(See page 13.)
Replace the disc with one that has
been recorded.
Move the unit away from the
source of the magnetism.
Close the record-protect tab. (See
page 34.)
Make connections properly to the
sound source.
Adjust the recording level properly.
Replace it with a recordable disc.
Replace it with another recordable
disc with fewer recorded tracks.
Connect the optical digital cable
properly or use analog input.
Distance the antenna from the
unit.
Distance the unit from the
magnetic field.
Cause
Power cord plug is not properly
connected to AC outlet.
The R-805TX’s energy save
function is enabled (when the R-
805TX is connected).
The disc may be damaged (“Disc
Error” appears).
Moisture has formed inside the
unit.
The unit is not on.
The disc is inserted in the wrong
direction.
The disc may not be recorded (the
track numbers do not appear).
Strong magnetism from a
television or a similar device is
interfering with operations.
The disc is record-protected
(“Protected” appears).
The unit is not connected
properly to the sound source.
The recording level is too low.
A premastered disc is inserted.
There is not enough time left on
the disc.
The optical digital cable for audio
use is not connected properly.
(“D. In Unlock” appears.)
The indoor AM antenna is located
near the recorder.
The unit is placed near a strong
magnetic field, such as a TV.
