By specifying the type of program (genre) you want to listen to, the
tuner automatically searches for a station which is currently broad-
casting a program of the specified type.
With certain receiving conditions, if may take more than 1 min-
utes until the search completes.
Preparation
÷ Set the RDS to AUTO MEMORY mode.
÷ Set the broadcast band to FM.
Searching for a desired program type (PTY search)

Select the PTY search mode.

Select the desired program type.
Use program type table on the right for your convenience.
With the TUNING/MULTI CONTROL knob, the desired program
type among 29 program types is selected in the order.
Select while
"PTY" is lit.
B When selecting with the numeric keys
(0 - 9, +10).
A When selecting with the TUNING/
MULTI CONTROL knob.
When an RDS broadcast is received, the program type is shown on
the display.
If no PTY data is available, or if the station is not an RDS station,
"NONE" is displayed.
