WHEN THE MONITORS ARE CONNECTED
This is a simple step by step setup guide
Overview
1 Connect the monitors
2 Set one Master monitor as System Controller
3 Turn down volume
4 Set Bass Management off
5 Select Set up menu
6 Clear entire network
7 Select set up (Stereo analog, 5.1 digital, etc)
8 Select monitor tasks (e.g. “L Front”,“Center”,
9 Set Clock Source
Turn down volume
Before going any further select first item in main
menu:
Volume
turn it down to: –50 dBFS (default setting on new
monitors)
– this is just to prevent bad surprises.
Set Bass Management
Next point in the main menu is:
Bass management
select: Off
Note: In Stereo setups with subs, the subs will only
play when Bass Management is set to “on”.
Select monitor tasks
Now select first monitor and press ENTER
Pink Noise is generated in one of the monitors:
Set monitor tasks
(Pick matching task for the position of the monitor
where Pink Noise appears. E.g. “Master L front”,
press: Exit
Go to Setup menu
Move to: Setup menu
press: ENTER
Select Setup
Now you must define which kind of set up you
have:
Empty
Custom
Stereo analog
Stereo digital
5.1 analog
5.1 digital
6.1 analog
6.1 digital
5.3 analog
5.3 digital
5.1 digital/6 Master
etc. etc.
External Source
BNC Input On:
The monitor attempts to lock on the Word Clock
BNC connection.
BNC Input Off:
The monitor will attempt to lock on the AES Input.
Connect the monitors
Power...
Audio...
Network...
Already at this point you must decide precisely what
type of setup you are going to use.
Connections must be done exactly according to the
Setups illustrated on pages 10 to 13.

Set one
monitor as System Controller
One specific
Master monitor in the setup must be
set as System Controller. This is done by leaving
out the TC Link button on the back of the monitor.
The Setup determines exactly which monitor this
must be. (see pages 10-13).
All
other Master monitors must be set to operate as
“slaves” by leaving the TC LINK button in in-
position.

Reset procedure
Select between following Reset options:
Reset all Settings
Hold ENTER when connecting Mains Power and
select “Reset all Settings”
A “factory” reset procedure that deletes all global
and local parameter settings as well as preset and
network settings.
Clear entire network:
Select “Clear Entire Network” and press ENTER in
the Setup menu.
