bn AUTO-RADIOTUNING (ART)
By pressing this button and activating this
function (indicated by “ART” on the display
panel), the radio will automatically tune to a
strong listenable station if the station it is tuned
to becomes too weak and noisy for clear
reception. This feature is most useful when
traveling in fringe reception areas.
bo LIQUIDCRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL
The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) panel dis-
plays the frequency, time and activated func-
tions.
NOTE: It is a characteristic of LCD panels that,
if subjected to cold temperatures for an
extended period of time, they will take
longer to illuminate than under normal
conditions and the visibility of the num-
bers on the display may decrease. The
LCD read-out will return to normal when
the temperature increases to a normal
range.
bp DISCSLOT
With the label surface facing up, gently insert
the disc into the disc slot until the soft-loading
mechanism engages and disc play begins.
The disc-in indication “ “, play arrow “ “,
track number and elapsed time will appear on
the display panel.
NOTE: This unit is designed for play of stan-
dard 5" (12cm) Compact Discs ONLY.
Do not attempt to use 3" (8cm) CD-
Single discs in this unit, either with or
without an adaptor, as damage to the
player and/or disc can occur. Such
damage will not be covered by the
Warranty on this product.
bq TRACK SEARCH ( / )
The Track Search function is used to quickly
access the beginning of a particular track.
Each time the Forward Track Search ( ) side
of the button is pressed, the next higher track
number will be selected as shown on the
display panel. Each time the Backward Track
Search ( ) side of the button is pressed, the
next lower track number will be selected as
shown on the display panel.
br CUEFUNCTION
High-speed audible search to any section of
the disc can be made by the Cue function.
Press and hold the Cue button br to advance
quickly to the desired section. Normal play will
resume when the button is released.
bs REPEAT PLAYSELECTOR (RPT)
During disc play, press this button to repeat the
play of the selected track (“RPT” will appear on
the display panel). Play of the track will con-
tinue to repeat until the button is pressed again
and the “RPT” indication disappears from the
display panel.
bt RANDOM PLAY SELECTOR (RNDM)
During disc play, press this button to play the
tracks on the disc in a random shuffled order
(“RNDM” will appear on the display panel).
The Forward Track Search bq function will
also select tracks in the random order instead
of the normal progression. The Random Play
mode can be cancelled by pressing the button
bt again or activating Repeat Play bs or CD
Scan bu functions.
bu CDSCAN
During disc play, press this button to play the
first 10 seconds of each track on the disc (the
track number will flash on the display panel).
When a desired track is reached, press the CD
Scan button bu again to cancel the function
and play of the selected track will continue. CD
Scan mode will also be cancelled by activating
any other CD function selector.
