TIMER PLAY AND TIMER
RECORDING
The unit can be turned on at a specified time every day with the
built-in timer.
Make sure the clock is set correctly. (See page 6.)

Timer recording is available for the tuner only.

Prepare the source for timer play, or source and
destination for timer recording. -
To listen to the radio,
press the TUNER/BAND button to
select the desired band and tune in to the desired station.
To listen to a CD or MD, load the desired disc and press the
FUNCTION button on the remote control to select the CD or
MD function.
To listen to a tape, load the desired tape.
To record a radio program, press the TUNER/BAND button
to select the desired band and tune in to the desired station.
Then, insert an MD or load a tape, which you want to record
on.
For timer play : press the TIMERICLOCK button
repeatedly so that TIMER PLAY? appears.
For timer recording : press the TIMER/CLOCK
button repeatedly so that TIMER REC ? appears.
Within 5 seconds, press the ENTER button.
Set the hour of the timer-on time with the + or

For timer play: select the source with the + or
> button or the MULTI JOG dial, then press
the ENTER button.
For timer recording : select the destination (MD
or TAPE) with the++ or W button or the MULTI
JOG dial, then press the ENTER button.

Adjust the volume level with the + or ~
button or the MULTI JOG dial, then press the
ENTER button.
Volume level
Press the POWER button to turn the unit off.
@or
@REC remains on the display after the power is turned
off (timer standby mode).
Note that everything on the display including@ or ~REC will
clear if the power economizing mode is turned on (page 4).
When the timer-on time is reached, the unit turns on and begins
play (or recording) with the selected source and destination.
