Cassette recording
You have the potential to record radio programmes or CDs
onto a cassette.
Tune to the desired station or place the desired CD into the
>
CD tray.
When you want to start the recording press the cassette key
>
= j. The key4hlocks in at the same time.
When you want to stop recording press the cassette key
>
d.
Reducing interferences (Interference whistles)
When recording medium wave (MW) stations there is the pos-
sibility of static noise, the so called interference whistle.
In this case vary the setting of the BEAT CUT switch 3^ in
order to reduce this disturbance as much as possible.
Observe copyright laws!
When recording cassettes from CDs or copying radio transmis-
sions be aware of the copyright regulations of the country, in
which the device is to be used.
Setting the wake function
The timer function on your micro system can also be used as
an alarm clock. For this set the desired wake time, the sound
source, the volume as well as the shut o time. The micro system
will then switch on for the programmed time frame. You can be
woken up by the radio or to the sound of a CD.
The timer setting should also be completed within 10 seconds
otherwise the display will return to its original position.
If you want to be woken by the music from a CD, place the

desired CD into the CD tray q.
If you want to be woken by the radio, select the desired sta-
>
tion as described in this instruction manual.
Setting the switch-on time
Press the button TIMER
> 4!.
In the display e the hour indicator for the switch on time(ON)
blinks.
To set the hour for the switch on time press the button
> 9 1(
and/or 5^ or : 2@ and/or 4$.
To save the setting press the button TIMER
> 4! again.
In the display e the minute indicator for the switch on time
blinks.
To set the minutes for the switch on time press the button
> 9
1( and/or 5^ or : 2@ and/or 4$.
To save the setting press the button TIMER
> 4! again.
Setting the switch-off time
In the display e the hour indicator for the switch o time(OFF)
blinks.
To set the hour for the switch o time press the button
> 9 1(
and/or 5^ or : 2@ and/or 4$.
To save the setting press the button TIMER
> 4!.
In the display e the minute indicator for the switch o time
blinks.
To set the minutes for the switch o time press the button

1( and/or 5^ or : 2@ and/or 4$.
To save the setting press the button TIMER
> 4!.
Setting the sound source
In the display e the indicator for the sound source now blinks.
Select with the buttons
> 9 1( and/or 5^ or : 2@ and/or 4$
the desired sound source.
To save the setting press the button TIMER
> 4! again.
Adjusting the volume.
In the display e the indicator for the volume now blinks.
Select with the buttons
> 9 1( and/or 5^ or : 2@ and/or 4$
the desired volume.
Saving the settings
To save the setting press the button TIMER
> 4! again.
In the display e the alarm settings will now be shown one after
the other. A clock symbol indicates that the alarm function is
active.
Switch o the device with the
> button 2^ and/or the
STANDBY button 4(.
When you want to switch the alarm function on or o,
>
briey press the button TIMER 4!.
If you want to change the timer settings hold down the
>
TIMER button 4! for one second.
During the alarm
When the alarm time is reached the device will switch on
>
for the programmed time frame.
If you have programmed for "CD playback" but have for-
>
gotten to insert a CD the device will automatically switch to
radio playback.
Press the
> button 2^ and/or the STANDBY button 4(
to switch o the micro system when the alarm is sounding.
Activating the sleep function
You can preset a time, after which the micro system will switch
o. You can select a switch-o time between 90 and 10 minutes.
Switching the micro system on.
>
Press repeatedly the button SLEEP
> 4) until the display e
shows the desired number of minutes that the device should
remain switched on. Each time the button is pressed the
switch-o time is reduced by ten minutes.
When the desired switch o time appears in the display
> e
wait a few seconds until the normal display indicator ap-
pears again. In the upper left of the display e the SLEEP
indicator appears. The sleep function is now activated and
will turn o the micro system after the selected time.
