GAS LINE INSTALLATION
GAS FOR GAS LOG OPERATION
A licensed plumber should be used to install a gas line to the Inglenook Fireplace. Figure 21 shows a
typical gas line installation. Ensure that the grate, ash pan, and the side of the ash pan housing are
removed before gas log installation
Figure 21: Gas Line Installation (optional)
The gas line and the gas line cut-off valve can be obtained from a local hardware store or
heating and plumbing outlet. The model IN-GLS-24N/P Inglenook approved gas log system
must be purchased from a local Country Flame dealer or direct from Country Flame. Use of
any other log set, other than the model IN-GLS-24N/P will void the Inglenook warranty and
can damage not only the appliance but can create potential problems for the homeowner and
the dwelling. Once installation of the gas line system and gas log set is complete, the ash pan
should be stored away in the event the homeowner chooses to operate the Inglenook as a
wood burning appliance in the future. Ensure that a certified HVAC representative is
contracted for the installation of the gas line and ensure that all local codes are met when
converting the Inglenook to a gas appliance. The model IN-GLS-24N/P incorporates an
automatic shutoff device and complies with the Standard for Decorative Gas Appliances for
Installation in Vented Fireplaces, ANSI Z21.60. Further, the installation of the model IGSL-
24 decorative gas appliance must conform to the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.
CAUTION: WHEN USING THE MODEL IN-GLS-24N/P DECORATIVE GAS
APPLIANCE THE INGLENOOK FIREPLACE DAMPER MUST BE SET IN THE
FULLY OPEN POSITION.
