Sets the aspect ratio of the video signal sent to your connected
TV set.

SET TV DISPLAY MODE
The default setting is “4:3 /LB (letterbox)”.
If you are connecting to a 16:9 (wide) ratio TV set, change the
setting to “16:9 WIDE”.

Select “TV DISPLAY” in the “SETUP MENU”.

Press ENTER repeatedly to select the desired setting.
“4:3/LB (Letter Box)”
Media recorded in wide (16:9) format will be played in
“letterbox” style, with black bands at the top and bottom of the
screen.
“4:3/PS (Pan & Scan)”
Media recorded in wide (16:9) format will be played at the full
screen height, with the left and right portions cut of f.
“16:9 WIDE”
Select this when a wide-screen TV is connected. Media
recorded in wide (16:9) format can be played on the full screen.
(The wide-screen TV also needs to be set to wide-screen.)

Press SETUP.
The setting is completed.

TV.

Select “TV TYPE” in the “SETUP MENU”.

Press ENTER to select the desired setting.
“NTSC”
When connencting to a NTSC system TV. (Default)
“PAL”
When connencting to a P AL system TV.
“MULTI”
When connencting to a multi color system TV.

Press SETUP.
When the SETUP MENU screen is not displayed properly.
1. Press SETUP to exit the SETUP MENU
2. Hold down BAND repeatedly until NTSC, P AL or MULTI is
displayed on the TV screen. The setting with BAND button is
temporary . If the disc is removed or the function is changed,
the setting is canceled. When you change the setting with
BAND button, the setting of the SETUP MENU also needs to
be changed.
NOTE
If the color is abnormal or the picture is distorted in MUL TI
mode, switch to NTSC or P AL.
If the disc of the NTSC (P AL) color system is played in P AL
(NTSC) setting, sometimes the picture is distorted. This is
because of the dif ference between the P AL and the NTSC
format.
