Creating New Icons
1. Click on the “ICON EDITOR” tab in the MRC44 System Window. The ‘Icon Editor’ window will appear.
2. Click “NEW”. This will clear the screen.
3. To type a new source name, using the PC keyboard, Select “TEXT”. A source name, or icon, up to four
characters in length can be created. (i.e. SAT2)
4. Click the “SAVE AS” icon.
5. In the ‘File Name’ box, type in the same letters used in the icon. (Anything can be entered, but using the
same letters/characters may be easier for associating files with icons).
6. Select the Keypad tab in the Project Window.
7. Right click on the Source button to be labeled.
8. From the pop-up menu, Select “LOAD ICON”. A list of icon bitmaps will appear, including new icons.
NOTE: Source icons will be copied to all keypads in a project automatically in Dragon weather programmed
in basic, advanced or expanded mode.
Selecting Palettes
a) From the Palette menu, click Select “IR COMMAND PALETTE”. (F4)
A list of palettes file names appears to the right with Select Palette in the title bar.
b) Scroll the list (if necessary) and click on the filename of each palette you need for your system (e.g.
pioneercd.pal, rcadss.pal, etc).
As you click on each file name, the palettes will appear side-by-side, left to right, with the filename in
each title bar.
NOTE 1: The various palettes and window boxes can be moved and sized (except the virtual keypads)
for ease of use.
NOTE 2: Each palette can be edited by clicking the Edit Palette bar or closed with the X button in the
title bar.
Placing Commands On The Virtual Keypad
(BASIC)
a) Select “KEYPAD” in the MRC44 System Window.
b) Click the desired Source button on the MRC44 Keypad.
c) Click a Function button, click the applicable command from the palette for that component function and
then the code name (function/brand/component) for that button will appear in the Macro Command List
on the MRC44 Programming Module.
d) To remove a command right-click on the code in the command list, it will disappear, showing that it has
been erased.
e) To add additional commands to the same button, just repeat steps “b” to “c”. (See: “Editing
Sequences”)
f) Repeat for all buttons, all sources.
g) In Basic mode all commands and sequences will be copied to all zones automatically
(ADVANCED/EXPANDED)
a) Select the Zone tab in the MRC44 System Window.
b) In the “SELECT ZONE’ box, select the zone to be programmed.
c) Follow steps ‘b’ through ‘f’ above.
NOTE 1: If a particular command or sequence is to be copied to all 4 sources on a Keypad, right click that
button and click “PUNCH” from the pop-up menu. That buttons command or sequence will now be
programmed for that button on all four sources for that Keypad.
NOTE 2: If all Keypad functions in all zones are identical, right click on any button on the Keypad to be copied,
and click “PUNCH ALL” from the pop-up menu. All Keypads will now be completely and identically
programmed.
Programming Sequences
All programmable buttons on the MRC44 Keypad can be programmed to send IR sequences of up to 40
commands.
1. Click the button to be programmed.
2. Open all palettes to be used in the sequence.
3. In the palettes, click on the commands in the order of the sequence to be sent.
