STARTING A WARM ENGINE
1. MovethrottlelevertotheSTARTposition.
2. Move the choke lever to the HALF
CHOKE position
.
3. Pull starter handle sharply until engine
runs.
NOTE:If engine does not r un after 5 pulls, re-
peat STARTING A COLD ENGINE procedure.
4. After a 10 second warm-up, move the
choke lever to the RUN position.
DIFFICULT STARTING (or starting a
flooded engine)
Flooded engines can be started by placing the
choke l ever inthe RUN positionand thethrottle
leverintheSTARTposition;then,pul lt hes tar t-
er handle sharply to clear the engine of e xcess
fuel. T his couldrequire pullingthe starter handl e
many times depending on h ow badly the unit is
flooded. If the unit still does not start, refer to

S After each use, inspect complete unit for
loose ordamagedparts. Cleanthe unitus-
ing a dam p cloth with a m ild det ergent.
S Wipe off unit with aclean dry cloth.

Cleaning the air filter:
A dirty air filter decreases engine perform-
ance and increases fuel consumption and
harmful emissions. Always clean after every
5 hours of operation.
1. Clean thecover andthe a reaaround it t o
keep debris from falling into the carbure-
tor chamber when the cover is removed.
2. Press button to open air filter cover. Re-
move air filter .
NOTE:Donotcleanfilteringasolineorother
flammablesolvent.Doing socan createafire
hazard orproduceharmfulevaporativeemis-
sions.
3. Wash the filter in soap and wa ter.
4. Allow filter to dry.
5. Apply a few dr ops of oil to the filter;
squeeze filter to distribute oil.
6. Replace parts.
