HELPFUL TIP
Toobtainthecorrectoilmix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2--cycle synthetic oil into
one gallon of f resh gas.
This engine is certified to operate on un-
leaded gasoline. Before operation, gasoline
must be mixed with a good quality synthetic
2-cycle air-cooled engine oil des igne d to be
mixed at aratio of40:1. Poulan/WEED EATER
brandsyntheticoilisrecommended. Mixgas-
oline and oil ata ratio of 40:1. A 40:1 ratiois
obtainedby m ixing3.2 fluidounces (95ml)of
oilwith1gallon(4liters)ofunleadedgasoline.
DO NOT USE autom otive oil or boat oil.
These oils will cause engine damage. When
mixingfuel,followinstructionsprintedoncon-
tainer. Once oil is added to gasoline, shake
container momentarily to assure that thefuel
is thoroughly mixed. Always read and follow
the safety rules relating to fuel beforefueling
your unit.
CAUTION : Never use str aigh t gasoline in
your unit. This will cause permanent engine
damage and void the limited warranty.
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
This engine requires the use of minimum 87
octane [R+M]/2 clean gasoline.
IMPORTANT
Use of alcohol blended fuels (called gasohol or
using e thanol o rmethanol) cancausemajor en-
gine performance and durability problems.
WARNING: Alternative fuels (not
gasoline) such as E--15 (15% a lcohol), E--20
(20% alcohol), E--85 (85% a lcohol) ar e NOT
classified as gasoline and are NOT approved
for u se in 2--stroke gasoline engines. Use of
alternative fuels will cause problems such as:
improper clutch engagements, overheating,
vapor lock, power loss, l ubrication deficiency,
deterio ration of fuel l ines, gaskets and internal
carburetor components, etc. Alternative fuels
cause high moisture absorption into the fuel/oil
mixture leading to oil and fuel separation.
TO STOP THE ENGINE
D To stop the engine, move the throttle lever
to theSTOP
position andhold untilen-
gine stops running.
STARTING YOUR ENGINE
WARNING: You MUST make sure
the tube is secure before using the unit.
