Troubleshooting
An unknown image appears on the LCD screen or viewfinder.
• The camcorder is in [DEMO MODE] (p. 87). Touch the LCD screen to cancel [DEMO
MODE].
An unknown indicator appears on the screen.
• A warning indicator or message appears on the screen (p. 118).
The image remains on the LCD screen.
• This occurs if you disconnect the DC plug or remove the battery pack without turning off the
power first. This is not a malfunction.
The buttons do not appear on the touch panel.
• Touch the LCD screen lightly.
• Press DISP/BATT INFO on your camcorder (or DISPLAY on the Remote Commander)
(p. 30).
The buttons on the touch panel do not work correctly or do not work at all.
• Adjust the touch panel ([CALIBRATION]) (p. 132).
The image in the viewfinder is not clear.
• Move the viewfinder lens adjustment lever until the image appears clearly (p. 31).
The image in the viewfinder has disappeared.
• Close the LCD panel. No image is displayed in the viewfinder when the LCD panel is open
(p. 31).
The disc cannot be removed.
• Make sure the power source (battery pack or AC Adaptor) is connected correctly (p. 26).
• Remove the battery pack from the camcorder, then attach it again (p. 27).
• Attach a charged battery pack to the camcorder (p. 26).
• The disc is damaged or is dirty with fingerprints, etc. In this case, it may take up to 10
minutes to remove the disc.
• The temperature of your camcorder is extremely high. Turn off your camcorder and leave it
for a while in a cool place.
• Moisture condensation has occurred with the disc. Turn off your camcorder and leave it for
about 1 hour in a cool place (p. 132).
• Finalizing is interrupted by turning off your camcorder. Turn on your camcorder and remove
the disc after finalizing is completed (p. 68).
