Singing karaoke
This unit allows you to enjoy singing karaoke by using not
only a source for karaoke use but also any normal audio
source.
1 Connect one or two microphones to the MIC jack(s) on
the front panel.
2 Select a karaoke mode (L R, L, R or VOCAL CUT) by
pressing the KARAOKE button once or more so that the
corresponding name appears on the karaoke mode
indicator.
* Whenever you press the KARAOKE button, the
karaoke mode changes and is displayed as follows.
For descriptions of the karaoke modes, see the list below.
3 Play back a source. (For source playback, refer to page
18–33.)
4 If desired, adjust the level of echo effect and key level of
the source currently played back. (For details, see the
next page.)
5 While singing, adjust the mixing level of singing voice by
turning the MIC MIXING level control.
6 If desired, adjust the tonal quality of singing voice by
turning the MIC TONE control.
* Turning the MIC TONE control clockwise makes tonal
quality softer.
To cancel the karaoke mode
Press the KARAOKE button once or more until the karaoke
mode indicator goes off, or press the PROGRAM button to
select a sound field program.
Note
The microphone(s) connected to the MIC jack(s) on the front

Feature
Signals on the left channel and the right channel are output from the left and right speakers
respectively.
Selecting this mode is suitable for singing karaoke by using a source which contains
background music and no vocal.
Only signals on the left channel of the source are output from the left and right speakers.
When using a karaoke source which contains both background music and original vocals on
the right channel and background music only on the left channel, selecting this mode is
suitable for singing karaoke.
Only signals on the right channel of the source are output from the left and right speakers.
When using a karaoke source which contains both background music and original vocals on
the left channel and background music only on the right channel, selecting this mode is
suitable for singing karaoke.
Medium frequencies of the source sound (vocals etc.) are attenuated. Select this mode when
you sing karaoke using a normal audio source with vocals.
Note
There may be a case that vocals cannot be attenuated effectively depending on a source.
