Oncetheroommeasurementsarecompleted,MultEQ
®
Procalculatesanequal-
izationlterforeachloudspeakerchannel,includingthesubwoofer(s).Therole
oftheseltersistoachieveaparticularfrequencyresponsewithintheentire
listeningareaforeachloudspeaker.Thiscurveisdeterminedbasedonseveral
acousticalandprogrammaterialconsiderationsandiscalledatargetorcalibra-
tioncurve.
Contrarytopopularbelief,atargetcurvethatisatfrom20Hzto20kHzisnot
alwaystheonethatwillproduceoptimalsound.Thereareseveralreasonsfor
thisincludingthefactthatmostloudspeakersaremuchmoredirectionalathigh
frequenciesthantheyareatlowfrequencies.Thismeansthatthebalanceof
directandreverberantroomsoundisverydifferentatthehighandlowendsof
thefrequencyspectrum—somethingthatshouldbeaccountedforinselecting
anappropriatetargetcurve.

neededtogetyouthere.Thefourcurvesareusedasfollows:
• TheFlatcurvecreatesequalizationltersthatcorrectthere-
sponsetoatfromthelowfrequencycutoffpointthatMultEQ
®
Prohasdeterminedtotheupperfrequencylimitofthetweeters.
ThissettingmustbeusedinaTHXsysteminordertoallowTHX
re-equalizationtooperateasitwasintended.Itisalsorecom-
mendedforverysmallorhighlytreatedroomsinwhichthelisten-
erisseatedclosetotheloudspeakers(wheremostofthesound
heardisdirectlyfromthespeakers,ratherthanfromsubsequent
reectionswithintheroom).
• TheStandard HF Rolloffcurveintroducesagentleattenuation
ofhighfrequenciesthataccountsforthebalancebetweendirect
andreectedsoundformostdomesticrooms.Thisistherecom-
mendedcurveforWisdomAudiospeakersundermostcircum-
stances.
• TheGamingcurveaddssomeboostbelowabout40Hztoenliv-
enthegamingexperience.Whiletechnicallyless“accurate”than
theStandardHFRolloffcurve,thisoptionisunquestionablyfun
