ConnectingthemicrophonewiththeSC-1andampliersonatthe
wrongtimecancausedangerousfeedbackthatmaydamageyour

Before Calibration Anysubwooferlow-passlter(crossover)shouldbedefeated,orsettotheTHX
setting.Sometimessubwoofershaveaspecialinputthatbypassesanyinternal
crossover,oftencalledthe“LFEinput.”Theeliminationofthesubwoofer’sown
lowpassltermustbedonebeforeMultEQ

MultEQProcanseewhateverypartofthesystemistrulycapableofdoing.
Ifthesubwooferlow-passltercannotbedefeated,setittoitsmaximumfre-
quency.Anysubwoofergaincontrolsshouldbesettotheirnominalsettings,
suchasattheTHXposition,orat12o’clockonaconventionallevelcontrol.
Also,ifthesubwooferhasanysortof“AutoStandby”orsleepmodethatturns
thepowertothesubwooferoffafteritdoesnotreceiveanysignalforsome
periodoftime,pleasedisablethismodeforthedurationofthecalibration.
Doingsowillensurethatthesubwooferisalwaysonandalwaysoutputtinga
signal,whichisimportantwhentakingaccuratemeasurements.

XTRoomCorrectionperformsmorethanequalization.It
alsomeasuresvariousparametersthatshouldbesetwithintheassociatedpre-
amplier/processorsothattheentiresystemisoptimized.Amongtheitems
measuredare:
• theacousticdistancefromeachloudspeakertotheMainListening
Position(orposition1)microphonelocation;
• therecommendedcrossoverfrequencyforeachchanneltothe
subwoofer;
• theleveltrimforeachloudspeakerchannel,and
• anindicationofthepolarityofeachloudspeaker.
Consultthedocumentationoftheconnectedprocessortosettheparameters
givenbytheresultsofMultEQPro.UsethendingsofMultEQProtosetthe
timedelay,thecrossoverfrequency,andtheleveltrimforeachloudspeaker,as
thesesettingwillbeoptimizedfortheroom.
