UsingtheEVMSoftware
TheEVMsoftwareprovidesaccesstotheTAS5706configurationandstatusregistersthroughaGUI
windowwith7tabsforthevariousEVMparameters.
Openthezipfile(.zzp)ontheinstallationCDshippedwiththeEVM.Extractthefilesandrunthe
setup.exefiletoinstalltheEVMsoftware.AftertheGUIisinstalled,poweruptheboard,andconnectthe
USBcable.Anew-hardwarealertshouldappearatthebottomrighthandcornerofthedisplay.IftheUSB
driverisnotinstalled,followtheinstructionsontheUSBWizardtoinstalltheUSBdriver.
AftertheEVMsoftwareisinstalledandtheEVMpoweredup,thestatusbarshouldbegreen.Clickingon
thesetuptabdisplaysthewindowshowninFigure4.
Thenperformthefollowingsteps.
1.SelectthedeviceTAS5706.
2.Select2-ChannelBTL(BDmode).
3.ClicktheInitializebutton,anduncheckAllChannelShutdownbox.
4.SelectVolumetab.Unmutemastervolumeandslidethevolumebartopreferredvolumesetting(see
Figure5).
