Operating the CC 820 M
Inserting a cassette
1. Press the
/
button on the front panel
to open the cassette drawer.
The screen displays '

2. Place the cassette in the CC drawer with the A-side
up, and the tape opening facing the inside of the
machine.
3. Press the
/
button on the front panel
to close the cassette drawer.
The machine automatically detects the tape type of
the cassette in the drawer, and displays: '

' on the screen for about two
seconds.
The screen then displays the current operating mode

Note:
These operating instructions describe all the tape
functions, and in every case we assume that the
cassette is placed in the tray with the A-side up!
Starting playback
The machine features an auto-reverse tape mechanism
which enables you to start playback directly from either
of the two cassette sides.
To play Side A press the
button.
To play Side B press the
button.
The screen displays the appropriate message '

'; the digital tape counter starts running. If side B is
playing, the tape direction indicator () lights up.
Variations:
If you press the
or
button immediately
after placing the cassette in the tray, then the tray closes
and the playback process begins with the appropriate
side.
If you briefly press the opposite button (
or
) during playback, the unit reverses the direction
of the tape and plays the other side.
The tape deck will play one cassette side, both cassette
sides in sequence or both sides continuously,
depending on the PLAY mode you have selected (see
'Special Recorder Functions').
Ending playback
Pressing the
/
button stops playback
immediately.
Rewind / Fast forward
To rewind the tape hold the
button pressed
in.
The display shows '

counter position you want, release the

To wind the tape fast forward hold the
