Finely controlling the pitch (Fine Control
Function)
You can fine control the playback speed in 0.1%
increments from –98.5% to +12.5%.
1 While the deck is playing, press MENU/NO twice
to display “Setup Menu”.
2 Turn AMS to select “Setup 11”, then press AMS.
3 Turn AMS to select the desired “Pfine”
percentage, then press AMS.
4 Press MENU/NO.
Notes
The playback sound drops out momentarily when you
change the fine control value.
The fine control setting returns to the initial value (0%)
when you turn off the deck or eject the MD.
The step and fine control values are linked; changing one
value also changes the other.
Setting the MD Deck Output
Switching the bit length
You can improve the output sound quality by
switching the bit length to match the MD deck or DA
converter connected to the digital output connector.
1 While the deck is stopped, press MENU/NO
twice to display “Setup Menu”.
2 Turn AMS to select “Setup 13”, then press AMS.
3 Turn AMS to select the desired bit length, then
press AMS.
4 Press MENU/NO.

Notes
• This function operates only for the digital signal output
through the digital output connector.
You can select the desired bit length from 24, 20 or 16 bits.
• If you switch the bit length during playback or recording,
the sound drops out momentarily.
z
You can also switch the bit length with the remote Z
Press D.O BIT repeatedly during play or in stop mode
until the desired bit length is displayed.
Adjusting the playback level Z
You can adjust the playback level of the signal output
to the LINE (ANALOG) OUT jacks and the PHONES
jack.
Press DIGITAL REC LEVEL/ANALOG OUT LEVEL
+/– during play.
(You cannot raise the level above 0 dB, or lower the
level below –20 dB.)
Note
The playback level setting returns to “0 dB” when you turn
off the deck or eject the MD.
