Recording While You’re Away
Timer and VCR Plus+ recordings let you program the VCR to record up to eight different programs
within a one-year period. Before recording, make sure that:
¥ The clock is set correctly.
¥ A tape with safety tab has been inserted with enough tape to record the program(s).

Timer Recording
1. Press VCR1 on the remote to turn on the VCR, audio/video
receiver, TV, and tune the TV to channel 91 (Input 1). This
also sets the remote to control the VCR.
2. Press MENU PROGRAM on the remote to display the VCR
MAIN MENU.
3. Press 2 to select the Timer Programming menu.
4. Press 1, 2, 3, or 4 to select type of program.
1 One time Ñ single program recorded once.
2 Daily Ñ program recorded at same time every day.
3 Weekdays Ñ program recorded at same time Monday
through Friday.
4 Weekly Ñ program recorded at same time once a week.
5. Press number buttons on the remote to enter the channel
number, start time including AM or PM, end time, and start
date of the recording. Just follow the on-screen prompts.
Press CLEAR to correct an entry.
6. Select recording speed using the SPEED button on the
VCRÕs remote or on the VCR.
7. Press MENU PROGRAM to enter your program. A
reminder appears which times out or you can press
MENU PROGRAM to return to the VCR MAIN MENU.
PROGRAMS OVERLAP may appear on the screen if you
have entered two programs where the times overlap.
8. Repeat steps 2–7 for additional programs or press
MENU PROGRAM to remove the menu from the TV screen.
9. Turn off the VCR before the recording is scheduled to begin.
TIMER appears in the VCRÕs display panel when the timer
has been programmed.
Stopping a Timer Recording in Progress
1. Press VCR1 and then STOP within a few seconds on the
remote or press POWER and then STOP within a few
seconds on the VCR.
