Using the high pass filter
When you do not want low sounds from the
subwoofer output frequency range to play
from the front or rear speakers, turn on the
HPF (high pass filter). Only frequencies higher
than those in the selected range are outputted
from the front or rear speakers.
Muting the speaker units (filters)
You can mute front and rear speaker units (fil-
ters) separately. When speaker units (filters)
are muted, no sound is outputted from those
speakers.
! If you mute the selected speaker unit (fil-
ter), MUTE is displayed and no adjust-
ments are possible.
! Even if any speaker unit (filter) is muted,
you can adjust the parameters for other
speaker units (filters).
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select F-HPF 1
(or R-HPF 1).
The function name tag F-HPF 1 (or R-HPF 1)is
highlighted.
2 Press and hold MULTI-CONTROL to
mute the selected speaker unit (filter).
MUTE is displayed.
# To cancel the muting, press MULTI-CONTROL
again.
Setting the high pass filter for
front speakers
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select F-HPF 1.
The function name tag F-HPF 1 is highlighted.
2 Push MULTI-CONTROL left or right to
select slope.
Each pushing MULTI-CONTROL left or right
selects slopes in the following order:
12 6Pass (0) (dB/oct.)
# If you set the slope to 0 dB/oct. (Pass), the
audio signal bypasses the filter, so the filter does
not have an effect.
3 Turn MULTI-CONTROL to select F-HPF 2.
The function name tag F-HPF 2 is highlighted.
4 Push MULTI-CONTROL left or right to
select cut-off frequency.
Each pushing MULTI-CONTROL left or right
selects cut-off frequencies in the following
order:

Only frequencies higher than those in the se-
lected range are output from the front speak-
ers.
5 Push MULTI-CONTROL up or down to
adjust the output level of the front speak-
ers.
Each pushing MULTI-CONTROL up or down
increases or decreases the level of the front
speakers. ±0 24 is displayed as the level is
increased or decreased.

rear speakers
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select R-HPF 1.

2 Push MULTI-CONTROL left or right to
select slope.
