Setting item Default Value Setting Details
Back 0dB Select a value between "-12dB" to "+12dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change
the value. Select the desired level.
r The setting is displayed if "Speaker
Configuration" - "Back" is set to other than
"None" and also "Back ch" is set to "1ch".
r This setting cannot be changed when
"Speaker Settings" - "Powered Zone 2" is set
to "Yes" and Zone 2 is turned on.
Surround Left 0dB Select a value between "-12dB" to "+12dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change
the value. Select the desired level.
Subwoofer 0dB Select a value between "-15dB" to "+12dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change
the value. Select the desired level.
Height Left 0dB Select a value between "-12dB" to "+12dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change
the value. Select the desired level.
r This setting cannot be changed in any of the
following cases.
"Speaker Settings" - "Height Speakers
Type" is set to "Not Use".
"Speaker Settings" - "Powered Zone 2" is
set to "Yes" and also Zone2 is set to on.
Height Right 0dB Select a value between "-12dB" to "+12dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change
the value. Select the desired level.
r This setting cannot be changed in any of the
following cases.
"Speaker Settings" - "Height Speakers
Type" is set to "Not Use".
"Speaker Settings" - "Powered Zone 2" is
set to "Yes" and also Zone2 is set to on.
r In the following cases, the settings for "Level Calibration" cannot be changed:
The speaker is set to "No" or "None" in "Speaker Configuration".
Mute (MUTING) is set.
r The test tone is output at the standard level for THX, which is 0dB (absolute volume setting 82). If you
normally listen at volume settings below this, be careful because the test tone will be much louder.
r If you are using a handheld sound pressure level meter, adjust the level of each speaker to 75dB SPL
at the listening position, measured in C-Weighting and slow reading.

to "meters".: Select a value from "<0.3m",
"0.3m-1.2m", and ">1.2m".
r In the following cases, the setting cannot be
changed:
"Speaker Configulation" - "Back" is set to
"None".
"Speaker Configulation" - "Back ch" is set
to "1ch".
"Speaker Settings" - "Powered Zone 2" is
set to "Yes" and also Zone2 is set to on.
THX Ultra2/
Select2 Subwoofer
No Set "Yes" or "No" of the connection of the THX
certified subwoofer.
"Yes": When a THX-certified subwoofer is
connected
"No": When a THX-certified subwoofer is not
connected
r The setting cannot be changed if "Speaker
Configulation" - "Subwoofer" is set to "No".
BGC Off If your listening room layout (for practical or
aesthetic reasons) locates most of the listeners
close to the rear wall, the resulting bass level
can be sufficiently reinforced by the boundary
that the overall sound becomes "boomy". THX
Select2 Plus receivers contain a Boundary
Gain Compensation (BGC) feature to improve
bass balance.
"On": Use this function
"Off": Do not use this function
r In the following cases, the setting cannot be
changed:
"Speaker Configulation" - "Subwoofer" is
set to "No".
"THX Ultra2/Select2 Subwoofer" is set to
"No".
