You can operate the z-connected Onkyo CD player, cassette
tape deck or DVD player with the remote controller provided with
the TX-DS494. The illustration shows the RC-443S remote
controller.
Controlling an Onkyo CD player
The z connector of the Onkyo compact disc player must be
connected to the TX-DS494 (refer to page 11).
1. Press the CD MODE button.
2. Press the STANDBY/ON button to turn on the
Onkyo compact disc player.
3. Press the desired operation button.
s :Starts playback of CD.
e : Stops playback, fast forward or fast reverse.
f : Fast forwards the CD.
d : Fast reverses the CD.
2/8 :Lets playback pause temporarily.
w :Skips to the beginning of the next track.
q : Skips to the beginning of the current or previous
track.
DISC : This button is valid when the CD changer is used
and selects the disc to be played.
Controlling an Onkyo cassette tape deck
The z connector of the Onkyo cassette tape deck must be
connected to the TX-DS494 (refer to page 11).
1. Press the TAPE MODE button.
2. Press the desired operation button.
s : Plays side A (the side facing the front) of tape.
e : Stops playback, recording, fast forward or rewinding.
f :Fast forwards the tape.
d :Rewinds the tape.
2/8 :Plays side B (the side facing the rear) of the tape.
w :Fast forwards the tape till the beginning of the next
music.
q:Rewinds the tape till the beginning of the current or
previous music.
