If a problem occurs, fi rst check the following:
1. Are the connections correct?
2. Is the unit being operated as described in the owner’s manual?
If this unit does not operate properly, check the items listed in the table below. If the problem persist there
may be a malfunction.
In this case, disconnect the power immediately and contact the retail outlet.

Connect the cables correctly.

Power to the amplifi er is not
turned on.
• Turn on power to the amplifi er.
(Refer to User Guide supplied
with the amplifi er.)
The function or input source
selector switch of the amplifi er
is not set to “CD” or “AUX”
(amplifi er terminal to which this
unit is connected).
• Set the function or input source
selector switch of the amplifi er
to “CD” or “AUX” (amplifi er
terminal to which this unit is
connected). (Refer to User Guide
supplied with the amplifi er.)
• The amplifi er volume is set to
minimum.
• Adjust the amplifi er volume.
(Refer to User Guide supplied
with the amplifi er.)
The display does
not light during
playback.
• The Audio EX function
([SOUND MODE]) is set to
“Audio EX2”.
Set the Audio EX function
([SOUND MODE]) to “Audio EX
OFF” or “Audio EX1”.

operate.
• The distance between the unit
and remote control is too great.
• Use the remote control closer to
the unit, within operational range.

• There is some object between
the unit and remote control.
• Remove the object.

• The batteries in the remote
control are expended.
Replace all batteries with new
batteries.

• The remote sensor of the unit is
exposed to strong light.
• Avoid exposing the remote
sensor to strong light.

• The EXTERNAL/INTERNAL
switch of the unit is set to
“EXTERNAL”.
• To use this unit without an
amplifi er, set the remote control
switch to “INTERNAL”.
