Recording a source
The KOLEKTOR allows you to record from any source to the tape
output, and lock the source so that you cannot accidentally select
another source while recording.
To set up a recording
RECORD
CD
cd 1
SOURCE
cd 1
SOURCE LOCK
First select the source you want to record using SRC- and SRC+
(front panel or handset) or one of the source keys on the handset.
The currently selected source is always switched to the record
output.
Then lock the input by pressing RECORD (front panel or handset).
The LOCK indicator will be lit to show that the source is locked.
If you attempt to change source while a source is locked the
SOURCE and LOCK indicators will flash to remind you that a
recording is active.
To cancel a recording
RECORD
cd 1
SOURCE
Press RECORD (front panel or handset) again.
The LOCK indicator will be switched off to show that the source is
unlocked.

This chapter gives general information about using the KOLEKTOR.
Using the front panel
We designed the KOLEKTOR to be as simple as possible to
operate. The front panel display gives clear information about what
you are doing and, although there are many sophisticated features,
all the most commonly used ones require only one or two key
presses.
The illustrations on the next page explain the function of each of
the front panel keys, and the meaning of the different parts of the
display.
