Using External Equipments
Recording the System's Source
to External Equipment
You can record the System's source to external equipment
which is connected to the LINE OUT or OI:q'ICAL DIGI-
TAL OUT lerminal of the System, such as tape deck or MD
recorder, elc.
First make sure thai the external equipment is properly
connected to the Syslem. (See page 8 to 9).
When recording a FM or AM program, use the LINE
OUT terminal (not the OPTICAL DIGfI'AL OUT lermi-
nal).
1 Play the System's CD Player or tune in
to a station.
The recording level is not affected by the VOLUME level
set by the Syslem. Also it is not affecled by the sound ef-
fects.
For operation of the external equipment, refer to its In-
structions.
Adjusting the Input Level
If the sound from the component connecled to the LINE IN
jacks is mo loud or is no1 loud enough when changing the
source Io the external component (without adjusting the
volume level), you can change the input level through the
LINE IN jacks.
Onthe Remote Control
1 When the source is "LINE", press and
hold the SET button.

If you have changed the source name of 1he exlernal
component, the currently selecled source will appem"
(see page 20).
2 Press the I_ or < button to select an
appropriate input level.
Each time you press the butlon, the input level aller-
hate between "INPUT LEVELI" and "INPUT
LEVEL2".

INPUT LEVEL1: Select this when the sound is not loud
enough.
INPUT LEVEL2: Select this when the sound is too loud.
3 Press the SET button to finish the
adjustment.

"LEVEL2 STORED" appem:s on the display.
The selected input level will be kept in memory until
you change it.
The input level is too high
Select "INPUTLEVEL2" ff the current level is "INPUT
LEVEL 1".
If the current revel is "INPUTLEVEL2", adjust the output
level on the external component.
