br VACUUM FLUORESCENT DISPLAY (VFD)
The Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) panel displays the
frequency, time, and activated functions using one of three
illumination levels as selected by the PWR/ILL button

bs POWER LEVEL METER DISPLAY
This display consists of a left and right five-bar graph and a center
graph which provides a visual representation of the volume level
and the left and right channel audio signal levels. The volume level
is represented by the two outer bar graphs. As the volume is
increased, the number of illuminated segments will increase. The
left and right channels are represented by the three inner and center
bar graphs whose illuminated segments increase and decrease as
a function of the signal strength applied to the left and right channels.
As the signal increases, the number of illuminated segments will
increase and vice-versa.
bt MODE SELECTOR (MODE)
This button is used to select the radio, cassette player or CD
changer (if installed) playback mode. Each press of the button
will select a different mode as indicated on the display panel.
During cassette operation, this button may be used to select the
CD changer mode. Press the button again to return toradio mode,
or press the button once more to resume play of the cassette
from the point at which it was stopped.
bu CASSETTE DOOR
Hold the cassette with the exposed tape edge to the right and
insert into the cassette door. Depress fully until the cassette is
engaged and begins playing. When the cassette reaches the end
on the side of the tape being played, the unit will automatically
change direction of play as shown by the arrows on the display
panel and play the other side of the cassette.

cl FAST-FORWARD BUTTON ( )
Pushing the Fast-Forward button will cause the tape to move rap-
idly in the forward direction of play. To stop Fast-Forward move-
ment, lightly push the Rewind button until the Fast-Forward button
disengages.
cm REWIND BUTTON ( )
Pushing the Rewind button will cause the tape to move rapidly in
the reverse direction of play. To stop Rewind movement, lightly
push the Fast-Forward button until the Rewind button disengages.
cn PAUSE (PAU) BUTTON
The Pause function is used to freeze disc play when the optional
CD changer is in use. PAUSE will appear flashing on the display.
Press this button again to resume disc play; the PAUSE indication
will disappear.
co PROGRAM SELECTOR
To manually reverse tape direction and play the other side of the
cassette, lightly push both the Fast-Forward and Rewind buttons
at the same time. The change of direction will be shown by the
arrows on the display panel.
cp EJECT BUTTON ( )
Tape playback is stopped and the cassette is ejected by pressing
this button, which also has the function of switching over to radio
operation.
