ConfigurethesettingsrelatingtoDNS[DNS]

Select the [DNS] tab on the "Network" page. (+ Page 60)

The settings relating to DNS (Domain Name System) can be configured on this tab.

[DNS]

Determine whether or not to use the DNS.

Off/Auto/Manual

 •Select"Manual"or"Auto"toenableIPaddress

searching by the host name using the DNS.

 •Select"Off"whennotusingtheDNS.

 •Selecting"Auto"isavailableonlywhen"On"is

selected for "DHCP" (using the DHCP server).

 •Selecting"Manual"isavailableregardlessoftheset-

ting for "DHCP" (with or without using the DHCP

server).

 •When"Manual"isselectedfortheDNS,enterthe

DNS server addresses in "Primary server address"

and "Secondary server address".

[Primaryserveraddress],[Secondaryserveraddress]

Enter the IP address of the primary DNS server and second-

ary DNS server. Enter 4 units from the decimal numbers

(0-255).

Default: 0.0.0.0

[Domainname]

Enter the domain name of this recorder. The first character of

the domain name should be an alphabetical character. The

first character of the domain name should be an alphabetical

character.

Enter 3 to 63 alphanumeric characters including hyphens (-)

and periods (.).

Default: localdomain
