Thisevaluationmodule(EVM)beingprovidedbyTexasInstruments(TI)isintendedforuseforENGINEERINGDEVELOPMENT
OREVALUATIONPURPOSESONLYandisnotconsideredbyTexasInstrumentstobefitforcommercialuse.Assuch,thisEVM
maynotbecompleteintermsofdesignand/ormanufacturingrelatedprotectiveconsiderationsincludingproductsafetymeasures
typicallyfoundintheend-productincorporatingthemodule.Asaprototype,thisproductdoesnotfallwithinthescopeofthe
EuropeanUnionDirectiveonelectromagneticcompatibilityandonlowvoltageandthereforemaynotmeetthetechnical
requirementsofthedirective.ThisEVMisnotsubjecttotheEUmarkingrequirements.
•ShouldthisEVMnotmeetthespecificationsindicatedintheUser’sGuidetheEVMmaybereturnedwithin30days
fromthedateofdeliveryforafullrefund.THEFOREGOINGWARRANTYISTHEEXCLUSIVEWARRANTYMADEBY
TIANDISINLIEUOFALLOTHERWARRANTIES,EXPRESSED,IMPLIED,ORSTATUTORY,INCLUDINGANY
WARRANTYOFMERCHANTABILITYORFITNESSFORANYPARTICULARPURPOSE.
•TheuserassumesallresponsibilityandliabilityforproperandsafehandlingoftheEVM.Theuseracknowledgethattheuse
oftheEVMcouldpresentserioushazardsandthatitistheuser’sresponsibilitytotakeallprecautionsforthehandlingand
useoftheEVMsinaccordancewithgoodlaboratorypractices.Pleasebeawarethattheproductsreceivedmaynotbe
regulatorycompliantoragencycertified(FCC,UL,etc.).Duetotheopenconstructionoftheproduct,itistheuser’s
responsibilitytotakeanyandallappropriateprecautionswithregardtoelectrostaticdischarge.
•NEITHERPARTYWILLBELIABLETOTHEOTHERFORANYINDIRECT,SPECIAL,INCIDENTAL,ORCONSEQUEN-
TIALDAMAGES.
•TIiscurrentlydealingwithvariouscustomersforproducts,andthereforeourarrangementwiththeuserwillnotbe
exclusive.
•TIassumesnoliabilityforapplicationsassistance,customerproductdesign,softwareperformance,orinfringement
ofpatentsorservicesdescribedherein.
•PleasereadtheUser’sGuideandspecificallythesectionintheUser’sGuidepertainingtowarningsandrestrictionspriorto
handlingtheproduct.ThissectioncontainsimportantinformationregardinghightemperatureandvoltageswhichTI
recommendstobereadbeforehandlingtheEVMs.Incaseofanydoubtregardingsafety,pleasecontacttheTIapplication
engineer.
•Personshandlingtheproductshouldhaveelectronicstrainingandobservegoodlaboratorypracticestandards.
•NolicenseisgrantedunderanypatentrightorotherintellectualpropertyrightofTIcoveringorrelatingtoanycombination,
machine,orprocessinwhichsuchTIproductsorservicesmightbeorareused.
•ThisAgreementissubjecttothelawsoftheStateofTexas,excludingthebodyofconflictsoflawsandtheUnitedNations
ConventionontheInternationalSaleofGoods,andwillbesubjecttotheexclusivejurisdictionofthecourtsoftheStateof
Texas.
EVMWARNINGSANDRESTRICTIONS
ItisimportanttooperatethisEVMwithintheinputvoltagerangeof2.5Vto5VandtheoutputvoltagerangeofxxxVtoxxxV.
Exceedingthespecifiedinputrangemaycauseunexpectedoperationand/orirreversibledamagetotheEVM.Ifthereare
questionsconcerningtheinputrange,pleasecontactaTIfieldrepresentativepriortoconnectingtheinputpower.
Applyingloadsoutsideofthespecifiedoutputrangemayresultinunintendedoperationand/orpossiblepermanentdamagetothe
EVM.PleaseconsulttheEVMUser'sGuidepriortoconnectinganyloadtotheEVMoutput.Ifthereisuncertaintyastotheload
specification,pleasecontactaTIfieldrepresentative.
Duringnormaloperation,somecircuitcomponentsmayhavecasetemperaturesgreaterthan60ï½C.TheEVMisdesignedto
operateproperlywithcertaincomponentsabove60ï½Caslongastheinputandoutputrangesaremaintained.These
componentsincludebutarenotlimitedtolinearregulators,switchingtransistors,passtransistors,andcurrentsenseresistors.
ThesetypesofdevicescanbeidentifiedusingtheEVMschematiclocatedintheEVMUser'sGuide.Whenplacingmeasurement
probesnearthesedevicesduringoperation,pleasebeawarethatthesedevicesmaybeverywarmtothetouch.
