Getting Started
AC Hookups
Connecting the AC power cord
Connect the AC power cord from this amplifier and
from your audio/video components to a wall outlet.
If you connect another audio component to AC
OUTLET on the amplifier, the amplifier can supply
power to the connected component so you can turn
on/off whole system when you turn on/off the
amplifier.

Caution
Make sure that the power consumption of the component
connected to amplifier’s AC OUTLET does not exceed the
wattage stated on the rear panel. Do not connect high-
wattage electrical home appliances such as electric irons,
fans, or TVs to this outlet.
Before You Use Your Amplifier
Before you start using your amplifier, make sure that
you have:
Turned MASTER VOL to the leftmost position (0).
Selected the appropriate speaker system. (For
details, see “Selecting the speaker system” on
page 7.)
Set BALANCE to the center position. (Press PANEL
UP/DOWN to open the front cover and check the
BALANCE control.)
To rotate the BALANCE control, press the control
and make it pop out. Be sure to push the control
back in before closing the front cover. The cover will
not close unless the control is pushed in.
Turn on the amplifier and check the following
indicator.
Press MUTING on the remote if “MUTING” appears
in the display.
Clearing the amplifier’s memory
Before you use your amplifier for the first time or
when you want to clear the amplifier’s memory,
do the procedure below.

1 Turn off the amplifier.
2 Press down DISPLAY, PANEL UP/DOWN,
and POWER simultaneously.
The contents of the memory (e. g., parameter
settings) are erased.
