Troubleshooting Guide

If your unit should not perform as expected, consult the table below to see if the problem can be corrcted before
seeking help from your dealer or our service organization.
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
No power
Not receiving the stations
Not receiving the preset stations
interference
Poor FM reception
Continuous hissing noise during
FM reception, especially when a
stereo broadcast is received.
Continuous or intermittent
hissing noise during AM
reception, especially at night.
󳀏The AC input cord is disconnected.
󳀏The POWER switch is not pressed
completely.
󳀏No antenna is connected.
󳀏The broadcast band is not set properly.
󳀏The frequency of the desired station is
not tuned in.
󳀏An incorrect station frequency has
been memorized.
󳀏The preset memory was cleared
because the AC input cord had been
unplugged or the electricity had failed
for more than 2 weeks.
󳀏Noise related to ignition noise of an
automobile.
󳀏Noise related an influence from an
electric appliance.
󳀏Noise related to a nearby TV set.
󳀏No antenna is connected.
󳀏The antenna is not positioned for the
best reception.
󳀏Weak signals.
󳀏Noise is caused by motors, fluorescent
lamps or lightning, etc.
󳀏Connect cord securely.
󳀏Press the POWER switch to ON.
󳀏Connect an antenna.
󳀏Set the broadcast band properly.
󳀏Tune in the frequency of the desired
station.
󳀏Memorize the correct station
frequency.
󳀏Memorize the station again.
󳀏Install the outdoor antenna apart from
the load.
󳀏Turn off the power of the appliance.
󳀏Install this unit more apart from the
TV set .
󳀏Connect an antenna.
󳀏Change the position of the antenna.

sources.
