Theusercanselectoneoftwo modes:
1. MIC
Inthis modethe "ConferetteC2-)"operatespurelyasan
audloamplifler.Theinfraredreceiversectionisswifched
off.
2. IR+ MIC
Inthls mode,audiosignalscanbereceivedasweilasthe
infraredsignals.

A. Basic adjustment
Disassembly
Pulltherearpartofthe caseto the rear,awayfromthe
unit Notoolsarerequiredfor thisoperation,becausethe
frant andrearpartsofthe caseareonlyInterconnected
byasnap-flt.
Balanceadjustment
Withthisadjustment,the volumerelationshipbetween
thetwo earphonesisadaptedto thereducedhearing
capabilityof the user,whIchISnotusuallythesamefor
bothears.ThecontralisdesignatedPBinFig-2.The

Microphoneactivationthresholdtor intrared mode
Exworksthe basicadjustmentISsuchthat theautomatlc
actlvatloncircuitrespondstothe soundpressurepradu-
cedbya personspeaklngata normalspeechlevel,and
at adlstanceof approximately) mfrom the listener.The
respondthresholdoftheautomaticcircurt,withrespect
to distance,canbevariedwithinlimitsbymeansofPE.
Adjustment ot compensation circuit
The "ConferetteC2-)"containsacompensatloncircuit
whIchpreventsthevoiceofthe personweanngtheC2-)
from beingampllfiedat a unnaturallyhighvolume.The
degreeofcompensationmaybeadJustedwithpotentio-
meterPU(fig.2) accordingto themainapplicatlon.
Adjustment: Potentiometerfullyanticlockwise:
for applicationashearingamplifier.
Potentiometerfully clockwise:
ifC2-)isexclusivelyusedfor hearingand
speechpractice.
B. Operating the unit
1.Inserttherechargeablebatteryplug@Intotheunit
Observethe Instructlonsfor useonthe redlabel.
2. Selectthemodewithswitch(iJ"0" position:unitis
switchedoff."MIC"position:microphonesswitchedon,
infraredreceiversectionswitchedoff."IR+ MIC"
position:infraredreceiversectionisswitchedonand
mlcrophonesareswitchedonviathresholdsetting.
3. Placethe earpiecesintheearsasshownInFig.l.
4. AdjustcontralCDforthe desIredvalue.Ifonlyhissing
noiseisheardwhenthe Infraredmodehasbeenselec-
ted ("IR+ MIC"),the infraredtransmitterisnotyetin
operation.
5. Forinfraredreception("IR+ MIC")lens@)mustpoint
inthedirectionof the infraredtransmitter.Wearthe
unitinsuchawaythatthelensISalwaysdirected
towardsthetransmitter,i.e.thetelevisionset,andso
that Itisnotcoveredbyyourhandor clothing.
