The new VSX-C300/VSX-C300-S A/V receiver
features a super-sleek 6.5 cm (height) design that
complements the slim DV-444-K/DV-444-S and
DV-545 DVD-Video players, allowing for a
component-type home cinema system that doesn't
take up a lot of space. However elegant and
streamlined it looks, this receiver is fully-featured
and extremely flexible! A front optical digital audio
input allows you to easily plug in games or a
portable DVD player at a moment’s notice. The
VSX-C300/VSX-C300-S and a slim DVD player can
be used in a variety of A/V settings, giving you a
total home entertainment experience made to
measure.
User-friendly Surround and Listening Modes

The new super-slim VSX-C300/VSX-C300-S A/V
receiver features a wide range of pre-defined easy-
to-use surround and listening modes that work
with a variety of A/V sources. At the touch of a
button, TV Surround Mode creates the effect of
5.1 channel surround sound, even for monophonic
sources, such as news broadcasts, sports
coverage, classic films… Game Mode puts players
in the centre of action games where, thanks to
powerful bass and a close-set soundstage, they
can feel explosions and other sounds with
stunning reality. For users with only 2 front
speakers, Pioneer offers Virtual Surround Mode
for channel separation that leads to a surround
sound feeling. Or, if you want the effect of surround
sound but must wear headphones to keep sound
levels down, use the new Phones Surround Mode.
It feels like the soundstage is outside – rather than
inside – your head. The Pre-set Tone Mode lets the
family control tone with ease. You can easily switch
between the two tone curve pre-sets. If you feel the
sound is too harsh or too sharp, Quiet Mode
reduces the bass and treble in the signal to smooth
the sound. Finally, if you want the full strength of
bass, the S Bass Mode delivers a powerful
performance. All these features combine to make
the VSX-C300/VSX-C300-S an excellent choice for
the full impact of home cinema, without fussing
with complicated settings.
