Basic Operations
Playing aCD/CD-R/CD-RW
1 Insert thedisc, labelside up,into the discloading
slot.
! If adisc hasalready beeninserted,press SRC/
OFF toselect thebuilt-in CDplaye r.
Ejecting aCD/CD-R/CD-RW
1 Pressh (eject).
Playing songson aUSB storage device
1 Open theUSB connectorcover.
2 Plug inthe USBstorage deviceusing a USB
cable.
Stop playinga USBstorage device
1 You maydisconnect theUSB storage deviceat
anytime.
Selecting afolder
1 Push M.C. upor down.
Selecting atrack
1 Push M.C. leftor right.
Fast forwarding orreversing
1 Pushand holdM.C. left orright.
Returning toroot folder
1 Pressand holdBAND/ESC.
Switching betweencompressed audio andCD-DA
1 PressBAND/ESC.
Notes
! When playing compressed audio, there is no
sound during fast forward or reverse.
! USB portable audio players that can be
charged via USB will be rechargedwhen
plugged in and the ignition switch is setto
ACC or ON.
! Disconnect USB storage device from unit
when not in use.
! If plug and play is on and a USB storage de-
vice is present, depending on the typeof de-
vice, the source may switch to USB
automatically when you turn on the engine.
Please change plug and play settingas neces-
sary. Refer toUSB PnP (plug and play) on page
15.

Notes
! Incompatible text stored with the audiofile
may not be displayed or may be displayedin-
correctly.
! Depending on the version of iTunes used to
write MP3 files onto a disc, commentinforma-
tion may be incorrectly displayed.
! When playing back VBR (variable bit rate)-re-
corded WMA files, the average bit ratevalue is
displayed.
! When playing back VBR (variable bit rate)-re-
corded AAC files, the average bitrate value is
displayed. However, depending on the soft-
ware used to decode AAC files, VBR maybe
displayed.
When playing back VBR (variable bit rate)-re-
corded MP3 files, VBR is displayedinstead of
bit rate value.
