MONITOR
When you are receiving while the squelch function is
ON, weak signals may become intermittent.
If the CTCSS or DCS function is ON, you may want to
disable the squelch function temporarily to monitor the
current channel activities.
In both of these cases, use the Monitor function to
temporarily disable the squelch function.
To activate the Monitor function:
1 Press and hold [MONI/SQL].
The speaker is unmuted and you can monitor the
signals.
2 Release [MONI/SQL] to return to normal operation.
NARROW BAND FM OPERATION
By default, the transceiver operates in normal FM
(±5 kHz) mode for both transmission and reception.
You can also operate the transceiver in narrow band FM
(±2.5 kHz).
To operate the transceiver in narrow band FM:
1 Press [MENU].
2 Turn the Tuning control to select Menu No. 29
(FMN).
3 Press [MENU].
4 Turn the Tuning control to select “ON”.
5 Press [MENU] to store the setting or [PTT] to cancel.
