Using the cassette
Recording from a CD/ audio  le
1 Insert a disc or a USB device.
2 Insert a blank cassette tape into the tape deck.
3 Press the desired source button to select the
source you want to record from.
For CD/ audio  le-CD : Press CD/USB [CD/USB]
button to select CD input.
For USB device : Press CD/USB [CD/USB] button to
select USB input.
4 To record all the tracks/ les:
Stop playback.
To record a single track/ le:
Play the track/ le to be recorded.
5 Press TAPE REC [TAPE rec] button to set the unit
into recording standby mode.
The icon “TAPE REC” appears on the display.
6 Press FWD PLAY 3/8 [3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8
[2/8] button to begin recording.
The icon “SYNC” appears on the display.
• To ensure good system performance, wait until the unit
completely reads the disc/USB device before recording.
• To temporarily pause the recording, press FWD PLAY 3/8
[3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8 [2/8] button. Press it again to
resume recording.
• To end recording, press 7 [7 stop] button.
• During recording, it is not possible to listen to another source.
Program recording from a CD/ audio  le
Desired CD tracks/ audio  le can be programmed in
the desired sequence and recorded onto a tape.
1 Insert a disc or a USB device.
2 Insert a blank cassette tape into the tape deck.
3 Press the desired source button to select the
source you want to record from.
For CD/ audio  le-CD : Press CD/USB [CD/USB]
button to select CD input.
For USB device : Press CD/USB [CD/USB] button to
select USB input.
4 Make sure that the unit is in stop mode.
Playing a cassette tape
1 Press TAPE mode [TAPE mode] button to TAPE.
2 Press the area marked [push open] to open the
cassette tape door.
3 Insert cassette tape into the compartment with
the open edge facing down.
4 Close the door securely.
5 Press TAPE mode [TAPE mode] button to select
the desired reverse mode.
icon : plays both sides and stops.
icon : plays both sides endlessly.
icon : plays only one side of the tape and
stops.
6 Press SEARCH/TUNING 4 or ¢ [4 or ¢
search +/–] button to move tape to the desired
starting point.
7 Press FWD PLAY 3/8 [3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8
[2/8] button to begin playing the tape.
Recording on a cassette tape
You can record from a radio, a CD, a audio  le, or a
iPod.
For the best recording, use a normal bias tape (Type
1 only).
Recording from a radio
1 Insert a cassette tape into the tape
compartment and close the door.
2 Press TUNER band [TUNER band] button to
TUNER and select a radio station.
3 Press TAPE REC [TAPE rec] button to set the unit
into recording standby mode.
The icon “TAPE REC” appears on the display.
4 Press FWD PLAY 3/8 [3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8
[2/8] button to begin recording.
• To end recording, press 7 [7 stop] button.
• To temporarily pause the recording, press FWD PLAY 3/8
[3/8] or RVS PLAY 2/8 [2/8] button. Press it again to
resume recording.
