To tune in a preset channel
1 Select XM as the source.
2 Select a preset number for the channel you store.
See “How to Select Numbers” on page 9.
• You can also use 4/¢ on the main unit.
Changing the channel information
While listening to the XM Satellite Radio, the currently
selected channel information appears on the display.
You can change the type of channel information.
When SIGNAL is selected, current signal strength is
indicated on the display in 4 levels (NO SIGNAL, 1-3).

• Last channel you were listening to will be displayed the
next time you selected XM.
• When you tune in to another channel, the selected channel
number appears on the display.
• When all the text information cannot be shown on the
display at a time, the text scrolls.
• Some characters cannot be displayed correctly.

Messages on the display
When problems occur, a message appears on the display. In this case, refer to the following solution.
Message Possible cause Solution
NO SIGNAL Signals are too weak. Move the XM Mini-Tuner Home Dock near
a south-facing window or where “Channel 1”
can be heard clearly.
CHECK
XM TUNER
The XM Mini-Tuner is not properly in-
stalled or the cable is not properly con-
nected.
Confirm the XM Mini-Tuner is fully seated
in the XM Mini-Tuner Dock.
Then check the connection (see page 17),
and confirm the XM Mini-Tuner Dock cable
is not damaged and fully seated in the XM
terminal jack on the unit front panel.
CHECK
ANTENNA
The XM antenna is disconnected from
the XM Mini-Tuner Dock.
Confirm the XM antenna is properly con-
nected to the XM Mini-Tuner Dock (see
page 17).
LOADING This receiver is loading the channel in-
formation and audio data.
It takes a few minutes to complete. Wait until
loading is finished.
OFF AIR Selected channel is not currently broad-
casting any signal.
Select another channel.
UPDATING The latest encryption code is being up-
dated.
Wait until updating is finished.
“---” No text information for the selected
channel is available.
—
“CH---” Selected channel does not exist or is not
subscribed yet.
