TROUBLESHOOTING
Before calling a service technician, check the following tables rst. If the problem cannot be solved with the
suggested procedures, contact 800-HITACHI. For your safety, NEVER try to repair the product yourself.
When the Following Messages Appear on the Screen
Message Condition / Action Page
Power Save
This message comes from UT Monitor not A/V Center, indicates Monitor is in
Power Save Mode(example: if you turn off only A/V Center and Power Save
Mode is activated on UT Monitor).
The indicating lamp lights in orange on UT Monitor.
No Sync. Signal
The unit cannot detect any signals from any input terminals.
Check if the cable is connected correctly and rmly.
Check if the power of any external equipment is ON.
Check if the input selection matches the connection terminal.

Weak Signal or Channel not
available.
This shows the selected channel is not available.
Check the signal meter.

No picture - no sound
Check if the power of the A/V Center and UT Monitor or
external equipment is ON.
Check the connection of the power cord and/or other cables.
Check if the correct mode is selected.
Check if the UT Monitor is in “Standby mode” or “Power Save
mode”.
Adjust the values in “Picture” and “Audio” on UT Monitor
menu".

Multiple images-normal sound Check the connections to external equipment.

Intermittent interference
Check if the source of interference is shielded correctly.
Move these kinds of electrical devices away from the unit.
About LCD Display Technology
The following are common phenomena occurring when viewing LCD display devices due to its characteristics.
Please note that these are not malfunctions.
Defective Spots on Panel
The LCD panel is manufactured with high-precision technology. However, there might be some spots that are not
illuminated, or are brighter than others, or are in different colors, etc.
Surface on Panel
The LCD panel displays images by the uorescent lamps internally. This can raise the temperature of the display
surface.
In addition, do not allow any heavy impact to the front of the panel because the LCD panel is made of high precision
glass.
Use Under Low Temperature Conditions
Because of the structural characteristics of the LCD panel, the response speed of the LCD panel becomes slower
when the ambient temperature becomes too low. In some cases, this may result in a residual image.
The residual image will disappear of its own accord as the temperature rises again to a normal level.
