Calibration Description
The Cal connector on the front panel of the standard HP E1433A can be
configured (in software) as either an input or an output. It can be set to
any of four settings:
q DC - The HP E1433A outputs a DC calibration signal from the millivolt range up
to 15 volts.
q AC - The HP E1433A outputs a signal from an Arbitrary Source option (in the
same module or a different HP E1433A module in the system.)
q Ground - The connector is shunted to ground for a zero-volt reference.
q Open Circuit - In this mode the connector becomes an input which can receive a
calibration signal up to +/-15 volts.
The HP E1433A is calibrated at the factory and the calibration placed in
EPROM memory for use at each power-up. In addition an auto-zero
function is provided.
