Installing the PowerEdge System in
the Rack
The subsections that follow include instructions for installing the PowerEdge system.
Installing the Rack Adapters
To install the rack adapters on the computer, perform the following steps.
The following procedure is required only if you are converting a PowerEdge 2400
system from a tower chassis to a rack-ready chassis.
CAUTION: The computer may weigh up to 32 kg (70 lb) when fully loaded.
To prevent personal injury, do not attempt to move the computer by
yourself.
1. Lay the computer on its top side (see Figure 1-9) on a piece of foam or cardboard
(to prevent damage to the computer while you remove the feet).

2. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to remove the plastic screw from each of the
four rubber feet on the bottom of the chassis (see Figure 1-10).
