Audio Signal Input
The audio signal from the system goes in to the Line In connector on the SoundWare Sub amplier panel. In some systems
that signal will come from a surround sound processor or an A/V receiver that has a dedicated subwoofer or LFE output. In
other systems the signal will come from the preamp output of a conventional stereo component.

contained in digitally-encoded soundtracks. Dolby® Pro Logic® receivers, and some stereo receivers, have a similar output.
Use a single RCA cable (not supplied), as shown, to connect your digital receiver’s LFE subwoofer output to the SoundWare
Sub Line In connector.
The signal from a subwoofer or LFE output has been ltered so it contains only very low frequency sound. The crossover in
the SoundWare Sub is not needed. Turn the Crossover control all the way up to the 180 Hz position.
In this type of system the audio adjustments are controlled by the receiver or sound processor. Usually these adjustments are
made with on-screen menus. Some of the adjustments you should set include:
Subwoofer On/O - Be sure the subwoofer output is turned on.
Crossover Frequency-Seethe“InitialControlSettings”sectionthatfollows.
Subwoofer Volume - Set this to the mid-point of the control range. Then use the SoundWare Sub volume control to
make nal adjustments. If you cannot get enough bass from the Sub, adjust this control to a higher setting.
Some receivers or sound processors may have other controls. Consult your receiver instruction manual for additional
information.
Connecting to Preamp Outputs – If the electronics in your system does not have a subwoofer or LFE output you can
connect the SoundWare Sub to a preamp output. You’ll need a Y-adapter (not supplied) to combine the left and right preamp
outputs. Connect a single RCA cable (not supplied) from the Y-adapter to the Line In of the Sub.
