Receiving Voice Mail Messages
Your phone ispre-programmed with defaultCall Forwardingsettings to forward
your calls to Voice Mail when you are not available. The default setting is
Detailed with the If Busy, If No Answer, and If Unreachable fields set to your
Voice Mail access number. If you have subscribed to the Voice Mail and have
setup your VoiceMail box, butare not receiving yourVoice Mail messages,see
“Setting Call Forwarding to Voice Mail” on page 74.
New Message Indicators
When you receive a new message:
• New VoiceMail Message will display on the screen.
• Your phone will alert you every 30 seconds until you press B under
CALL or A under EXIT.

customize your alert notification.

Follow the system instructions to:
• Create a new four- to seven-digit password (see “Changing Your
Password” on page 86).
• Record your name (see “Recording Your Name” on page 87).
• Record a greeting (see “Recording Your Active Greeting” on page
87).

When the system says Enjoy using Nextel Voice Mail, your mailbox is
set up.
