As office networking environments continue to expand, there
is a rapidly increasing need for reliable and efficient sys-
tems that handle larger volumes of data. The launch of the
DVD-ROM helps to meet this need by providing an optical
disc medium that allows up to 4.7 GB of data to be stored on
a 12 cm single layer disc (or 8.5 GB in the case of a dual
layer disc). To allow users to take advantage of this exciting
new development, Pioneer has launched the DRM-1004V40,
a 100-disc jukebox-style autochanger featuring a 2.6X speed
DVD-ROM read-only drive that enables rapid access to as
much as 470 GB (single layer DVD)/850 GB (dual layer
DVD)of data. For extra flexibility, the DRM-1004V40 also
reads data from the latest DVD-R discs which can be written
using Pioneer's DVR-S101 DVD-R drive. This system is also
read compatible with conventional CD-ROM and CD-R discs
at 20 times the standard speed, so there's no need to
abandon your current data library in order to upgrade to
DVD-ROM. Furthermore, to complement this versatility,
Pioneer has equipped the DRM-1004V40 with an extremely
durable mechanism that ensures the highest levels of
operational reliability.
Two Separate 50-Disc Magazines
The DRM-1004V40's magazine system
can accommodate as many as 100
DVD-ROM/DVD-R or CD-ROM/CD-R
discs on two separate, removable 50-disc
magazines. This arrangement allows the
user to load and unload discs easily and
conveniently.
High-Speed Disc Exchange
Pioneer's leading-edge servo technology
enhances the data access efficiency of the
DRM-1004V40 by automatically
exchanging discs in just 6 seconds.
User-Friendly Keypad Display
and Disc Mailslot
The DRM-1004V40 is equipped
with an ergonomically designed
keypad display for simplified
operation. A convenient mailslot
allows users to insert and
retrieve individual discs on
command, thereby eliminating
the need to open the jukebox door.
