MPCD33
MP3 AUDIO PLAYBACK REQUIREMENTS
While playing MP3 music, please note the following points.
It is assumed that the user of this unit understands how to properly burn a CDR and add MP3 files
to it. Many different variations MP3 audio are available from various sources and computer
programs. Please read the following to better understand how your unit will work with MP3 files.
1. Playback of VBR (variable bit rate) MP3 files is not possible on this unit. Only standard CBR
(constant bit rate) files may be played.
2. The time display for the MP3 files may not be precise due to the inherent nature of compressed
audio.
3. Cue points can not be set on MP3 audio. When MP3 files are played and “CUE” is pressed the
music will return to the beginning of the track and pause. MP3 audio lacks the time code feature
of regular CD Audio that allows for cue point setting.
4. Track sorting conforms to ISO9660 standards, but not all programs in conformity with this
standard. The playing order may be different with the burning order. Folders will be sorted first
followed by the tracks within similar to a computer system alphabetical file sort.
For example, The disc is burned with following tracks.
1ab, 2bc, 3cd, 4de, 10jk, 11kl, 20mn, 31no
Due to different burning program formats, the playing order is different as below.
• Conformable to ISO9660, the playing order is
1ab -> 2bc -> 3cd -> 4de -> 10jk -> 11kl -> 20mn ->31no
• Unconformable to ISO9660
1ab -> 10jk -> 11kl -> 20mn -> 2bc -> 31no -> 3cd -> 4de
5. If the ID3 (data area) in your MP3 includes photos, then you may not be able to play the track.
6. If the over-sampling frequency of the MP3 music is not 44.1KHz, then the PITCH CONTROL will
not work.
7. If the disc is burned with both MP3 and CDDA (Digital Audio) music, then it will be recognized
according to the first track. For example, if the first track is CDDA music the unit will play CDDA
music only.
Due to differences in CD burning software some programs may work better than others. If
you have difficulty with playback, try a CD burned with different software.
