Useful functions for broadcast reception
Each time the key is pressed, the operation mode changes.
When you press the ACTIVE RECEPTION key, the AR indicator
flashes, and the tuner will automatically switch the IF BAND, RF
ATT and ANT A/B functions to select the best conditions for recep-
tion. If, at this time, you change the receiving frequency by adjust-
ing the tuning UP/DOWN or calling up preset broadcast stations,
you will always achieve optimum broadcast wave reception.
Normally leave the ACTIVE RECEPTION mode ON.
During manual operation of IF BAND, RF ATT and ANT A/B func-
tions, the ACTIV RECEPTION mode is set to OFF.

Light up when the
switch is turned on.
When there is an adjacent channel with strong radio waves, RF
reciprocal modulation, mixed modulation distortion easily occurs.
By switching the RF ATT key ON the RF reciprocal modulation
and mixed modulation can be minimized.
Even when the key is set to OFF, if the ACTIVE RECEPTION mode
is ON, it will work automatically.
This function lets you set the intermediate frequency pass band to
WIDE (wide band), or NARROW (narrow band).
WIDE: Normally set the IF BAND to WIDE. This setting allows
reception of good quality sound with minimal distortion.
NARROW: If signal reception is poor due to interference from a neigh-
bouring station when the IF BAND is set to WIDE, change
the IF BAND setting to NARROW.
If the ACTIVE RECEPTION mode is set to ON, WIDE or NARROW will
be switched over automatically.

When using 2 exterior antennas, or, an external antenna with an
already established antenna (cable broadcast reception antenna
etc.), aligning to the respective set up and reception statuses, A
or B can be switched.
If the ACTIVE RECEPTION mode is set to ON, the key will switch A/
B automatically.
By pressing this key, the automatic stereo function and the auto-
matic tuning function are both switched over at the same time
when AUTO STEREO or HIGH BLEND (available with KTF-3010 only)
is selected.

Lights up in the AUTO mode.
AUTO/STEREO (STEREO lit during stereo reception):
Usually, set the switch to AUTO/STEREO.
The tuner automatically switches between stereo and monaural
receptions according to the program being received.
The tuner automatically scans the frequency and stops when a
station is tuned in.
HIGH BLEND (available for the FM band with KTF-3010 only):
STEREO lit during stereo reception
This function reduces audible noise in the middle band and above
when receiving weak radio waves during stereo broadcasts. The
tuner automatically scans the frequency and stops when a sta-
tion is tuned in.
MANUAL/MONO:
Set the switch to OFF when noise interferes due to weak radio
waves in the stereo reception. The stereo broadcast is received in
monaural and the noise will be reduced. When you want to tune
in a station with weak radio waves which the auto tuning func-
tion can not pick up, select the manual tuning mode.
