5‐6:SpeakerTerminals‐These5waybindingpostsacceptstrippedspeakerwire,bananaplugs,orspadeconnectors.Be
suretoobservecorrectpolaritywhenconnectingspeakersandbesurethatthewiresdonottouchbetweenpositiveand
negativeterminals.
WhenusingtheUPA1to‘biwire’aspeaker,usebothnegativeandbothpositiveterminalstoconnecttothecorresponding
negativeandpositiveterminalsonyourspeakers.Inastandardwiringsituation,useonlyonenegativeterminalandone
positiveterminaltosinglenegativeandpositiveterminalsonthespeaker.
Note:Potentiallylethalvoltagespresent!Neverconnect,disconnectormodifyspeakerwiringwiththeamplifierturned
on.
7.VoltageIndicatorAllEmoitvaamplifiersoperateoneither115Vor230V.Thevoltageisdetectedwhentheamplifieris
turnedon,andisidentifiedbytheindicatorlights.Therearenouseradjustments,theamplifierautomaticallyadjuststothe
voltage.
8.RemoteTriggerInput/OutputTheUPA1canberemotelytriggeredbyanotherdevice,andinturn,remotelytrigger
anotherdevice.Whenaremotetriggeroutputfromapreamplifier,processororotheraudiodeviceisconnectedtothe
triggerinputhere,theamplifierwillpowerupandshutdownalongwiththefirstdevice.Anotherdevice(CDplayer,
amplifier,etc)canbeaddedtothischainusingthetriggeroutput.
A3.5mm,512voltmonoaudiocableisusedforbothinputsandoutputs.Ifbuildingyourowncable,centerispositiveand
outershieldisnegative.
9.MasterPowerSwitch‐Thisrockerswitchprovidesthemasterpowerfortheamplifier.AfteritisintheONposition,the
amplifiercanbeturnedonmanuallyfromthefrontpanelswitchorautomaticallywiththetriggerinputvia3.5mminputjack.
Undernormaluse,thisswitchshouldremainon,leavingtheamplifierinstandbyposition,andcomingtofullpowerwith
eitherthefrontpanel‘STANDBY’button,oractivationthroughtheremotetrigger.
