STOP SWITCH
The STOP switchis used tostop theengine.To
stop the engine, push and holdtheswitch inthe
STOP position un til the eng ine stops.
PRIMER BULB
ThePRIMER BULBremovesairfromthecar-
buretor and fuel lines and fills them with fuel.
This allows you tostart theengine with fewer
pulls on the starter rope. Activate the primer
bulb by pressing it and allowing itto return to
its original form.
CHOKE
The CHOKE helps to supply fuel to the engine
toaidincoldstarting.Activatethechokeby
moving the choke lever to the FULL CHOKE
position.After theengineattempts tostart,move
the choke lever to the HALF CHOKE position.
Once engine has started, movethe choke lever
to the RUN position.
BEFORE STARTING ENGINE
WARNING: Besureto readthe fuel
information in the safety rules before you
begin. If you do not understand the safety
rules, do not attempt to fuel your unit. Call

FUELING ENGINE
WARNING: Remove fuel cap slowly
when refueling.
HELPFUL TIP
Toobtain thecorrectoilmix
ratio, pour 3.2 ounces of
2-- cycle synthetic oil into
one gallon of fresh gas.
This engine is certified to operate on unleaded
gasoline. Before ope ration, g asoline m ust b e
mixed with a good quality synthetic 2-cycle
air-cooled engine oil designed to be m ixed at a
ratio o f 40:1. Poulan/WEED EATER brand
synthetic oil is recommended. Mix gasoline and
oilataratioof40: 1. A40:1 ratioisobtainedby
mixing 3.2 fluid ounces ( 95 ml) of oi l wit h 1
gallo n(4liters)ofunleaded gasoline. DONOT
USE automotive oil or marine oil. These oils will
cause enginedamage. Whenmixingfuel, follow
instructions printed on container . Once oil is
addedto gasoline,shake containermomentarily
to assure that the fuel is thoroughly mixed.
Always read and follow the safety rules relating
to f uel before fueling your unit.
CAUTION: Never use straight gasoline in
your unit. This will cause permanent engine
damage and void the limited warranty.
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
This engine requires the use of minimum 87
octane [R+M]/2 clean gasoline.
IMPORTANT
Use of alcohol blended fuels (called gasohol or
usingethanol ormethanol)can cause majoren-
gine performance and durability problems.
WARNING: Alternativefuels (notgas-
oline) such as E--15 (15% alcohol), E--20 (20%
alcohol),E--85(85%alcohol)are NOTclassified
as gasoline and are NOT approved for use in
2--stroke gasoline engines. Use of alternative
fuels will cause p roblems such a s: improper
clutch engagements, overheating, vapor lock,
power loss, lubrication deficiency , deterioration
of fuel lines, gaskets and internal carburetor
