there is any damage, do not use until
damage is repaired b y your authorized
service dealer.
S Do n ot use the unit if the switch does not
turn the unit on and off properly. Ha ve the
unit re paired by y our a ut horized service
dealer.
S A void accidental sta rting. Be sure t he
switch is in the

your h and a nd f ingers a way f ro m the
switch while connecting the unit to the
power source or w hen carryinga unit co n-
nected to th e power source.
S A void any body contact with any
grounded con ductor, such as metal
fences, or pipes, to avoid the possibility of
electric shoc k.
S Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)
protection should be provide d on the cir-
cuit or outlet to be used for this unit. Re-
ceptacles are available having built-in
GFCI protection and may b e used for this
measure of safety.
S Stop the motor immediately if you are ap-
proached.
DOUBLE INSULATION
CONSTRUCTION
This unit is double insulated to help pro-
tect against electri c sho ck. Double insula-
tion constr uct i on c onsists of t wo separate
“l ayers” of electr i cal insulati on i nstead of
grounding. Tools and appliances builtwith
a double insulati on system are not in-
tended t o be grounded. No grounding
means is p r ovided on this unit, nor should
a means of g r ounding be added to this
unit. As a result, the extension cord used
wit h your unit can be plugged into any
standard 120 volt electr i cal outlet. Safety
precauti ons must be observed when op-
erati ng any electrical tool . T he double i n-
sulati on system only provides added pro-
tect ion against injury resulting from an
intern al el ectrical insulation failure .

All ele ctr i cal repair s to this unit, including
housing, switch, motor, etc.,must be diag-
nosed and repaired by an aut hori zed ser-
vice dealer. R eplacement p ar t s for a
double i nsulat ed appli ance must be iden-
tical t o t he par ts they re place. A double in-
sula ted appliance i s m arke d with the
words
“DOUBLE INSULATI ON” or “DOUBLE
INSULATED .”

pliance. Failure to have the unit repaired
by a n authorized service dealer can
cause t he double insulat ion constructi on
to become inef f ecti ve and result in seri ous
injur y.
UNIT/MAINTENANCE SAFETY
S Do not set the unit on a ny surface ex-
cept a clean, har d area whil e the unit is
running. Debri s such as gravel , s and,
dust , grass, etc., could b e picked up by
the a irintake a n d thr o w n ou tthrough the
discharge opening, damaging the unit,
prop erty , or caus ing serious injury to by-
standers or oper ator.
S Do not over r each or use from unstabl e
surfaces such as lad ders, tr e es, steep
slope s, rooftops, etc. Use extra care
when cleaning on stairw ays. Keep firm
footi n g and bala nce at all tim es. Keep
hands out of tubes.
S Inspect the enti re unit bef ore each use
for worn, loose, missing, or damaged
parts. Do not use until the unit is in
proper wor king or der.

section. Have all internal service per-
formed by qualif ied servi ce repair per-
sonnel to avoid cr eat ing a hazard or
voiding yo ur war ranty .
S H ave all mai ntenance other t han the
recom m en ded procedu res described in
the instructio n manual perfor m ed by
your authori zed service dealer.
S Always see your au t h or ized service
dealer to replace a damaged impell er.
Parts that are chi p ped, cracked,broken,
or damaged i n any other way can fl y
apart and cause serious inj ur y. R eplace
damaged p a rt s before usi ng the un it.
S Never pl ace any obj ect i n the air intake
opening as this could restrict proper a ir
flow and cause damage to the unit .
