Use this menu to set up various options for
using the messaging service.
Text messages
(Menu 5.5.1)
You can configure SMS settings.
•
Send settings
: set up the options for
sending SMS messages:
Reply path
: allow recipients to reply to you
through your SMS server.
Delivery report
: set the network to inform
you when your messages have been
delivered.
Character support
: select a character
encoding type. When you select
Automatic
,
the phone switches the encoding type from
GSM-Alphabet to UniCode if you enter a
Unicode character.
Use of Unicode encoding will reduce the
maximum number of characters in a
message to about half. If this menu is not
shown, your phone provides automatic
character encoding by default.
Bearer selection
: select either
GSM
or
GPRS preferred
, depending on your
network.

Block list
: store the phone numbers from
which you want to reject messages.
•
Current profile
: check or select an SMS
setting profile.
•
Profile settings
: set the properties of each
profile.
Service centre
: store or change the
number of your SMS server.
Default destination
: enter the default
destination. It will be automatically entered
on the recipient list.
