YHF-797BG Stereo Component System
High Quality Sound
ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio
Reproduction Technology)
When processing and transmission of
the audio signal is simple and direct there
is less chance of it being affected by noise
and distortion. Yamaha’s amplifier design
technology called ToP-ART features I/O
(input to output) Direct Symmetrical
Design, with left and right channels
organized in a straight, symmetrical layout
for highest signal purity.
Switchable CD Direct Amplification
(Discrete Configuration)
Engaged by a front panel switch, it
matches CD signal levels so each stage
produces less noise, resulting in improved
S/N ratio and maintenance of the amp’s
total gain balance.
Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio
Ready with Extended Frequency
Response
Rather than the usual 20Hz–20kHz
frequency response, Yamaha has given
the RX-797 the ability to handle
frequencies from 10Hz to100kHz (1dB).
Although the ear cannot hear the higher
frequencies, it has been proven that these
harmonics can affect sound reproduction
quality. DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD and
other new formats will be able to output
sound over this range, so the RX-797 is
fully compatible with products using these
formats.
Linear Damping
Level variations due to high amp
impedance tend to reduce an amplifier’s
damping factor, and frequency variations
cause it to fluctuate. This circuit cancels
the effect of these variations, maintaining
a high, stable damping factor, for superior
articulation of all sounds and better
frequency response.
High Dynamic Power, Low-
Impedance Drive Capability
The RX-797 is capable of delivering large
amounts of reserve power for accurate
reproduction of high energy peaks. This
emphasizes the music’s dynamic qualities
and provides a sharper sound image.
Laser Pickup Floating Mechanism
The laser pickup is isolated on a floating
mechanism so its delicate operation
cannot be affected by vibration.
Intelligent Digital Servo System
Conventional tracking servo circuitry
cannot completely overcome errors
caused by disc defects, warpage, dust
and so on. This system uses a
microcomputer to monitor the signal,
adjusting pickup tracking and focus, as
well as spindle motor speed, to
compensate for any problems.
High Performance Parts and Circuitry
Used Throughout
Because every single part affects sound
quality, Yamaha uses nothing but the best.
The special Low-Impedance Power
Supply, for example, uses extra thick wires
to ensure that power is absolutely stable
even under low-impedance conditions.
Enjoy Uninterrupted Music
This changer is 5-disc carousal type, giving
you the benefits of extended playing time
and direct selection from any of five discs.
And with PlayXchange, you can change up
to four discs while the fifth continues to
play. You don’t have to interrupt the music
to change a disc and you’re not limited to
change only one disc at a time. What’s
more, when you press the open/close
button, the tray opens all the way,
allowing you to change all discs at once.
CD-R/RW Disc Compatibility
This CD changer can handle CD-R and CD-
RW discs with ordinary songs. (Note that
some discs may not play.)
40-Track Random Access
Programmable Play and Clear
It’s extremely easy to program the tracks
you want to hear in any order. You can
clear the programme at any time with a
single touch.
RS-232C Interface
An RS-232C interface is provided so this
player can be controlled via computer in a
custom installation.
CD-Tape Synchronised Record Start
You’ll have smooth recording starts each
time, because Synchronised Record Start
puts the deck into the recording mode a
few seconds before starting CD play.
3-Mode CD Text Display
Get information about the CD currently
playing right on the CD player’s display.
The 3- mode CD Text display shows the
CD’s title, the artist’s name and the title of
the track.
Random Play (Single/All) with Disc-
to-Disc Random Play
Use Random Play to mix selections from
various discs or to hear old CDs in the new
way
.
Convenient Operation
Custom Installation Compatibility
As benefits a high performance receiver,
the RX-797 is designed to be suitable for
usein custom installations. It has a Zone 2
out so the audio/video signal can be
output in a second room. In addition, You
can enjoy audio in 3 different zones in
your home by using main zone speaker
output, Speaker B output, and zone 2
audio/video output. There is also a Zone 2
power switch, an 2-in/1-out remote
terminals and trigger out.
High Quality Monster Cable
Extremely high quality wiring, from the
well-known Monster Cable Products, is
used internally in each speaker to connect
the woofer and crossover network.
High Frequency Response Dome
Tweeter
The proven capabilities and durability of
this dome tweeter made it the ideal choice
for these speakers. It can reproduce
frequencies up to 35kHz and is powerful.
The diffuser over the tweeter helps
improve frequency response and
directionality.
PMD Cone Woofer
The EF Series speakers use a Polymer-
injected Mica Diaphragm (PMD) cone
woofer. This diaphragm is composed of
30% high quality white Indian Pearl Mica,
chosen for the contribution it makes to
sound quality. Kapton bobbins increase S/
N ratio. The cone is extremely light tough
and durable, with a varied thickness for
excellent response.
Beautiful Yamaha Piano Finish
with Elegant Elliptical Form
As one of the world’s leading piano
manufacturers, Yamaha has a long history
of wood-working expertise. The EF Series
speaker cabinets feature the same
luxurious and environmentally friendly
finish as our fine grand pianos.
