LPX-510: “Natural Black” and advanced
functions for enjoying widescreen movies.
High Performance LCD Panels
The LPX-510 uses LCD panels capable of projecting
high resolution 720p HDTV images and 10-bit video
processing gives it the ability to reproduce 1.07
billion colours. 16:9 aspect ratio compatibility
means that widescreen movies can be viewed in
their entirety.
3D Linear Colour Balance
The 3D Linear Colour Balance function maintains
the proper balance between the three signals from
the LCD panels, adjusting colour irregularities
through a range of 15,360 correction points for
accurate colour in any type of scene.
Lens Shift, Motorised Iris and Zoom
Vertical and horizontal lens shift capability means
that the projector does
not have to be positioned
directly in front of the
screen. The motorised iris
control can be used to
improve contrast and
focusing, and the
motorised Zoom will
expand the image up to
1.5 times.
Cinema Balance Filter
The LPX-510 introduces a new Cinema Balance
Filter that enhances colour reproduction when
viewing in a dark room, such as typically used for
movies. It is an optical filter so dynamic range is
not affected.

DPX-1200: Advanced technologies deliver
extraordinary performance.
"Natural Black" Concept
How a video system
reproduces black and all its gradations is what
determines contrast, and generally makes the
difference between an image that is merely good and
one that is sharp and richly detailed at every level of
brightness. In quest of superior contrast performance,
Yamaha developed the Natural Black concept,
whereby various technologies, parts and functions
combine to achieve truer, deeper levels of black than
those of conventional home theatre projectors.
Taking Projector Performance to a New Level
The DPX-1200 makes use of a wide range of new
technologies to deliver extraordinary video
performance. Contrast is an incredible 5,000:1,
brightness is 800 ANSI lumens, picture sharpness is
outstanding and colour reproduction is stunningly
natural.
Newest Light Engine: 720P
DarkChip3™
This DLP chip is Texas Instruments
newest and most advanced Digital
Micro Mirror Device. As the name
implies, it provides deeper blacks and
improved contrast in dark areas.
High Resolution Lens
Yamaha has gone beyond the capabilities of other
projectors with the use of a new high resolution lens
that maintains resolution sensitivity to the edge of
the lens. Four anomalous dispersion glass
components, result in half the chromatic aberration
while maintaining a short focal point and high zoom
magnification.
Seven-Segment Colour Wheel
The DPX-1200 incorporates a
seven-segment colour wheel,
with an ND filter-equipped
green segment, resulting in
excellent colour reproduction.
The seven-segment structure
reduces dither, while colour
reproduction is excellent, with greens being more true
to life than ever (achieving the HD monitor “green”
standard). Green resolution is 10-bit, which also
improves the representation of black tones.
Faroudja TruLife Enhancer
Picture clarity is excellent, with
clean, sharp edges and details
ensured by Faroudja’s TruLife Enhancer.
Natural Colour Adjustment System
• Colour Balance Control
There are three Colour Balance modes. The first is the
Standard mode and cannot be adjusted. The second is
the RGB mode, which allows adjustment of the red,
green and blue colours by specifying x and y values
for each (yellow, cyan and magenta are derived from
the three main colours). The third mode is RGBYCM,
which allows each of the six colours to be directly
specified by entering x and y coordinates. There are
six memory presets for storing personal adjustments.
• Colour Temperature Adjustment
The correlated colour temperature can be adjusted in
500K increments between 5,000K and 10,000K, for
achieving accurate colour fidelity. A graph on the
colour temperature menu facilitates this operation. In
order to maintain perfect colour balance when the
settings are changed, automatic colour balance
calculation/adjustment is provided.
• Convenient Memory Functions
There are six memory positions for storing different
combinations of parameter settings, and each can be
used for two input signals, making a total of 12
memory conditions. The user can store the same
parameter combination for DVD and HDTV, for
example. The DPX-1200 automatically adjusts when
the source is changed, so the user does not have to
select a different memory position.

3D Linear Colour Balance No 3D Linear Colour Balance
Yamaha Natural Black makes
subtle degrees of black in
textures, shadows and so on
stand out more clearly.
With other projectors, black
contrast may be soft and
fuzzy rather than sharp and
clear.
